Laminate Veneers

Laminate veneer, also known as leaf porcelain, is a thin layer of porcelain made to sit on the front surface of the tooth, like a fake nail. Sometimes a natural colored composite (white filling) material is used instead of porcelain. Laminate veneers make teeth look natural and healthy. They are very thin, the tooth cuts very little and then the porcelains are glued in that place with a strong adhesive. Teeth may be numbed with a local anesthetic to ensure there is no discomfort during the procedure. After the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken or a digital image of the tooth is taken by scanning. Then the porcelain is rehearsed and sent for polishing.

It takes at least two sessions for laminate veneer rehearsals. The veneer is adhered to the tooth with a special adhesive that will hold it tightly.
